The Top 10 Ward Machines is an annual list of the top ten "best" car engines available in the US market, selected by Ward's AutoWorld magazine.. This list began in 1994 for Model Year 1995, and has been taken every year since then, published at the end of the previous year.
Machines should be available in regular production vehicles sold in the US market by the first quarter of this year. To be eligible, the machine must also be available in vehicles at a base price of no more than US $ 60,000 for the 2015 list, after progressively increasing from the base US $ 50,000 price limit for list 1995. During the 2-month testing period, Ward's editor evaluates each machine according to a number of objective and subjective criteria in everyday driving situations - no instrument testing. This selection takes into account account power and output torque, noise, vibration and roughness (NVH) levels, technical relevance, and basic comparative figures. Each machine competes with the others.
