Glenn Kulka (born March 3, 1964) is a professional wrestler, hockey player and Canadian footballer who competed in Canada's independent promotion during the late 1990s and had a brief assignment at the World Wrestling Federation in 1997.

He also, at one time, held a pro football football record for North America, pressing 225 pounds for 53 reps.

Careers

Initial career

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Stan and Jeannine Kulka, (the youngest of four children) Glenn Kulka began playing hockey in a minor league with the Hockey League of British Columbia with the Capital of the Cowichan Valley in 1980 and Medicine Hat Tigers, Spokane Flyers and Nanaimo Islanders in Western Hockey League from 1981-1983. Kulka then is a defensive midfielder stands out for two years (1984, 85) with Renegade Bakersfield College at PAC 9 JC Conference of California. While in Bakersfield, Kulka has a tattoo "Gotta Win" on his left shoulder. He signed his first professional contract, in 1986, with Edmonton Eskimo, (as an offensive midfielder) then played with Montreal, Toronto, Saskatchewan, (and retired) while playing for Ottawa Roughriders. Joining Ottawa Rough Riders as an offensive midfielder and surviving in the late 1990s, he then became part of the Canadian All-Star Team the following year.

While playing with the Ottawa Rough Riders, he was arrested and convicted of possession of cocaine in March 1992 and fined $ 300. The CFL also responded by issuing an additional $ 500 Kulka fine and ordered to act as the official anti-drug spokesman of the organization.

He then re-entered professional hockey joined the Hampton Roads Admirals at the East Coast Hockey League during 1993 and 1994. Kulka joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1995 and, after working with Bret "The Hitman" Hart in a tag team match against the "Million Dollar Man "Ted DiBiase and" Psycho "Sid Vicious in a fundraiser for the Roughriders, Kulka became interested in pursuing a career in professional wrestling.

Kulka later appeared alongside teammates Mike Anderson, Bobby Jurasin and Scott Hendrickson at WWF Superstars who supported Bret Hart at ringside during the game against Psycho Sid Vicious and Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation which included King Kong Bundy, Kama and Bodydonna Skip at Regina Agridome in Regina, Saskatchewan on November 4, 1995.

Bret Hart then offered to train Kulka, and, with Leo Burke, Kulka spent the next two years training in Calgary, Alberta and then toured with Emile Dupree's Grand Prix Wrestling during the summer of 1997.

World Wrestling Federation

Subsequently signed for a development contract with WWF, he began appearing at WWF's WWF event in Ottawa during late 1997 appearing in ringside with Ahmed Johnson against Rocky Maivia and the Nation of Domination on November 7, 1997 and, two days later, making his television debut Debut on Monday Night Raw defeated Sexton Hardcastle in Toronto Skydome on November 10, 1997 in the Dark Match.

He then scored a victory over Doug Furnas, Miguel Perez, Jr. and Adam Copeland (Edge) before the end of the year and is also scheduled to make a one-night performance with Team Canada in the Survivor Series 1997 with "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and Tiger Ali Singh against USA Team which included The Patriot, Vader, Dude Love and Goldust on November 9, 1997, although Kulka and Singh were replaced with Doug Furnas & amp; Phil LaFon while Patriot and Dude Love were replaced by Marc Mero and Steve Blackman.

After suffering a broken leg during a game against The Jackyl in Regina in early 1998, Kulka was forced to undergo a corrective surgery that remained inactive for six months while in rehab. While recovering from injury, he was invited to a WWF Dojo Training Course under Dory Funk, Jr. and made several appearances on the Dojo teaming up with Tom Howard against Hardy Boyz on September 24 and participating in the 14-person "WWF Dojo" Battle Royal at the NWA 50th Anniversary Show on October 24, 1998.

He will also appear at WWF Dojo in collaboration with Jose Estrada, Jr. against the Truth Commission (Recon & Sniper) on February 5, 1999.

Power Pro Wrestling

Sent to Memphis-based Power Pro Wrestling, the WWF development area, he first emerged as a masked wrestler who came to the defense of Michael Hayes after being disqualified in a match against Baldo after an interruption from Downtown Bruno during a televised game on March 20, 1999 As a member of the manager Stable Randy Hales tries to attack Hayes after the game, a masked wrestler running into the ring gives Hayes a high five before suddenly turns to him.

After Downtown Bruno handcuffed Hayes, Kulka helped Hales' stable members to bring Hayes out of the arena and into the trunk of a car driven by "Irish Assassin" Mick Tierney who went with Hayes inside. In an interview after this incident, Randy Hales revealed masked wrestlers as Glen Kulka, former CFL player and "cousin" Michael Hayes.

Aligning himself with the Hales group, he will face several veterans including Doug Furnas, "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony and Kurt Angle and collaborate with JR Smooth and Mick Tierney during his feud with Allan Steele during early 1999. While there he will participate in two "Weapon Battle of the Royals" as well as 8-man matches for the Weapons Young title against Kurt Angle, Allan Steele, Mick Tierney, Kid Wikkid, Derrick King, Bulldog Raines and Vic Grimes on May 8, 1999.

Retirement

In 1999, Kulka defeated The Godfather with disqualification at WWF's home event in Ottawa on June 21 in his last appearance with the company. Remaining with Power Pro Wrestling for the next few months, he and Mick Tierney were awarded the PPW Billing Title on October 2 after Bill Dundee left the promotion. However, the title became vacant after Kulka left his own promotion in November.

Released from his contract by WWF in February 2000, he later fought with Pierre-Carl Ouellet in the Northern Wrestling Championships, facing him at ChallengeMania 8 in May 2000. Despite being suspected in negotiations with the Extreme Wrestling Championships, Kulka retired from professional wrestling as soon as he was released.

Recent years

Upon his return to Ottawa, he attempted to start the gym and manage a Ford car dealer. In 2004, Kulka was asked by Ottawa sports station, The Team 1200 to review field comments for the Ottawa Renegades. This eventually led to a regular place as a co-host for Team 1200's Over the Edge , a popular sport talk radio show at CFGO. However, on 27 November 2009 Kulka was dismissed by CHUM Radio due to cuts.

At the end of 2006, she made two guest appearances on the Off the Record talk show .

Glenn still lives in Ottawa, with his wife Mariko, and two children, Laura and Jaxson. He is one of several former CFL players who openly acknowledge the use of steroids during his professional career.

Glenn made his MMA debut against Wayne Xilon on the Freedom Fight Card held on July 26, 2008 at The Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau, Quebec. Glenn beat Xilon by a TKO at 1:13 in the first half.

Glen made another debut, acting as Charles the Wrestler in Shakespeare's "As You Like It" Third Wall Theater Company held from 4 February to 14 December 2010.

She is now a PT in a local gym.
