Massachusetts Foresters

On July 30, 1879, several members of St. The Vincentius de Paul Society of Boston, Massachusetts, most of them Irish immigrants, wishing to have a Catholic fraternity insurance society, organized an "Order" court plan of the Foresters' Order of the Forestry and called it the Catholic Order of Massachusetts. Initially membership was limited to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, except in one instance, where a court was established in Providence, Rhode Island. On January 1, 1909, an official report stated that there were 235 trials convened, with membership of 27,757. Of the 9679 members were women. The insurance that took effect on December 31, 1908, was $ 27,757,000.

On August 11, 1958, the Association Agreements, Articles of Association, Constitutions and Bylaws were changed to change the name of the organization to Catholic Association of Foresters . It's headquartered in Braintree, Massachusetts.

Illinois Foresters

On May 24, 1883, a number of Chicago Catholics, Illinois, took up the plan of the Massachusetts community, organized on the same line as the Illinois Catholic Order of Forestry. An average mortality rate of about a dollar was adopted, and men of all ages admitted membership at the same rate. Later, when the court was established in a number of other countries and in Canada, the international convention in 1895 adopted a graded insurance scoring system. Catholics between eighteen and forty-five years are eligible to become members. The Illinois word in the original title of the organization was dropped in 1888, as the membership was later extended beyond the borders of that State.

From the date of the organization until June 1, 1908, he paid $ 10,639,936 for death claims, and $ 2,500,000 in death and illness benefits. It was in April, 1909, 1600 courts and 136,212 members were distributed over twenty-six States and Dominion of Canada. Its main offices are in Chicago, Illinois. The official organ, The Catholic Forester , was published in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This society is not affiliated with the Massachusetts Catholic Order of Foresters.

Women's Sequence for Catholic Forestry

A Women's Catholic Women's Order was held in 1892 in Chicago, due to the cooperation of its prosperous objects among Catholic women with low-cost life insurance scores. Women at the time were not allowed to vote or combine, so their articles on merging were signed by men. By 1909 it had membership of 54,350, with courts scattered in many countries. The main offices are in Chicago.

Membership was extended to men and boys in 1958, and at their Yubilee Diamond Convention in 1966, the Order of Foresters of Catholic Women became the National Catholic Society . Currently headquartered in Mt. Prospect, Illinois.
